I use Fidelity Premium Services but my guess is that regular brokerage services are just as good. If there are shares they will find them!. They handle the short account a bit different though. They do not pay interest on your shorts instead they adjust your short account weekly (credit you money if your shorts go down, take cash away from you if they go up). On shorts you only pay commission one way, when covering.

Eric - Etrade almost always has stock to short. They stink when it comes to qoutes and execution.

I can't imagine Datek being much better. They are pretty small. They still don't trade options. I use E*Trade, and haven't had any problems except for speed. I have heard that DLJDirect is one of the best.
