I bet Susquehanna was exposed to POET because of High Frequency Trading (HFT) where femtoseconds are the difference between winning and losing. About a month or 6 weeks ago POET had a press release about an undisclosed HFT house partnering with them to improve latency. Now many HFT firms appear to be on that bandwagon with investments in POET (Citadel Trading, Group One, Susquehanna, etc.) That PR was mysteriously withdrawn even though it did not name the HFT firm (I suspect at the partner's request because they did not want to alert other HFT firms to the technology). HFT is an ultra competitive and secretive business!
