OEC Japan employees come to Borland

Now there is a team that understands enterprise business. I only hope the rest of the company learns from them.

Never ever sell a company that is ramping up its sales staff.

Japan Inc. which threatened to take over the world and the US in the early '80 (remember the uproar when the bought the Rockefeller center?) had the equivalent of atomic bombs dropped on their competitiveness via US PC revolution. Witness recent Chrysler's TV commercial where they designed and tested the whole damn car via computer graphics and simulations.

Japan knows damn well that they have a lot (impressed?) to catch up in computing technologies, and Borl will be one of the beneficiaries. If I understand correctly, dBase still has a strong market presence there. No, I'm not talking about BI making money off dBase. But these people know loyalty. Once they bought you, they stay for life. Apparently, OEC has cultivated good relationships there.

Look for Visigenic's CORBA to be the standard CORBA in Japan.

Go Borl.
