Having worked for a major most of my Exp/mining career.....they are all hedge for several years....

There was this chart, from a couple of days ago. Looks like miners have been lagging Gold for years now. It may be ready to break out of a multi- year consolidation (a cup in search of a handle?).

Could be, as kc mentioned, that they had poor luck with selling forward their product?
