Hi John,

The purpose of raising tariffs is to swing the stick such that tariffs in effect go down.

The Democrats have really pushed the view that increased tariffs are inflationary and that is Trump's plan.

They do not consider the other word that Trump proposes "Reciprocal Tariffs".

If you don't drop your punishing tariffs, we'll increase outs.

If you simply desire "Fair Trade" lets both drop all tariffs. That is the ultimate solution.

My bet is the net result of threatening higher tariffs (to equal what you are doing to the US) will be a drop in overall tariffs.

If so, you can smile about a drop in taxes and I will surely be in agreement with you.

We'll see?

The worst case is a drop in the market, and I'll buy the dip in dividend payers as long as the dip prevails.

These are the moments we wait for to buy a better value (discounted stock price) and increase a portfolio's per cent return, which compounds faster.
