You would have to be an extremely committed Democrat to support either of them.

Not really, I wasn't enamored with either of them, but I voted for them because the alternative was a dangerous authoritarian sociopath. Was I wrong?

There are lots of things you don't understand.. And you have made it clear that if you don't understand it, it must be malevolent. Not may be, must be. Which does fit with an authoritarian mindset. It is how they are wired.

A problem is, your demonstrated understanding is pretty limited and tends to be simplistic. So you have divided the world up into your team and an ill-defined cloud of "leftists", "socialists", "label of the moment" who all wear the same Hats. They are all imbued with shifting characteristics, but at any given moment all have the same thoughts, ideas and motivations. All marching in lockstep, only motivated by their desire to tear down all that is Right and Good. No real reason. Just because. Almost a force of nature.

In other words, classical conspiracy theory malefactors.

And everything flows from that. Your world is a tangle of memes, tropes and stereotypes. Flush with pop psychology, simplistic and misleading generalizations and copious quantities of bullshit. All loosely held together by layers of rationalization and unfounded, untethered speculation. There isn't much in the way of consistency, the number of mutually exclusive concepts you can juggle with no conflict is absolutely Orwellian. Awe inspiring, even in its own way.
Your worldview has taken you to a very dark place. I am not sure you can recognize that any more. Your journey has been a dark one and had led you to places no human should go because the pathway back is so difficult.

It is my opinion that anyone who was paying attention and isn't blatantly partisan would absolutely not have voted for Biden or Harris. They just wouldn't. You would have to be an extremely committed Democrat to support either of them. If one was well-informed, which most people here probably are.
I am no Democrat, and I had never liked Biden or Kamala, but I voted for them.

What alternative did I have?
Vote for crazy idiot who is destroying the world right in front of our eyes?
Stay home and let him rule?
I know your opinion on him and how smart his insane actions are.
When you defend his crazy actions as very smart you just move on his side that is insanity and stupidity.

There are certain threshold tests you apply to a candidate and if they can't meet those tests it doesn't matter which party they are in, you're just not going to vote for them.

People have different criteria for evaluating candidates. And even with the same criteria, people gauge them differently. Sure, some people just go with their party's candidate.

Others are more thoughtful and come to different mostly non-partisan conclusions. For example, some think a presidential candidate needs experience in government and a profound understanding of how it works. Someone else might favor an outsider, perhaps a businessman. And each might consider that criterion a deal breaker.

Consider that your tests might simply not be the same as everyone else's.
