Yeah, maybe they’re short VIX calls and need to hedge them - trying to make some money along the way. I don’t know. They give themselves some leeway - holding $800K in cash or “others”. All volatility etf’s are slightly weird.

That’s impressive: quadrupling the number of outstanding shares in 4 days can create some discrepancies. Maybe they’re trying to pump out those new shares in front of the demand? That would mess a little with svix price appreciation.

And, this poster has a point - traders taking such a massive shot at shorting volatility is not a bullish argument for the market.
