More on the Lucent speculation. They bought HP(Hewlet-Packard's broadband network). Lucent Buys Into Wireless Broadband Lucent Technologies [LU] will acquire Hewlett-Packard Co.'s [HP] business unit and launch a wireless broadband networks division in Milpitas, Calif. later this year. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the next few weeks, were not disclosed. The Lucent division will design, manufacture and deploy wireless broadband networks based on technology from HP, Bell Labs and Silicon Valley partners. Lucent will offer high-speed data, video and voice services to businesses. The technology will use antennas to relay information directly into the wireline network at 45 Mbps, which is 30-times faster than a T1 line.
