U.S. Leading Economic Index (LEI) from the Conference Board
Suffering its largest drop since October 2023. It has now declined in 35 of the last 37 monthly readings and remains well below its 18 month moving average (graph below).
This renewed acceleration in the LEI’s downward trend is a concerning sign as it points toward slower economic activity ahead.

I guess Trump read my tweet (see X link) to him and didn't like being called a "loser" so he just said he will not fire Powell or ask him to step down, but he does think it is a good time to lower interest rates.
