Surfer Mike, congratulations. In two short days, you have claimed the tech expert and Asian expert titles of the QCOM thread.

That was excellent information on Korea. This Kim Dae Jung guy is very interesting and does have to right chemistry to bring about some major changes. In the long run, Korea should emerge as a big winner. Eight years is a long time and I wouldn't even venture a guess.

Your post points to another clear example of the interrelationship of these Asian countries. The Japanese auto companies own the Asian markets, with the exception of may be Korea. I wonder how many cars are sold in Indonesia these days. Though they are not big markets like the US, complete melt downs in three or four of these countries can add up to some major over capacity in a major industry. No wonder Toyota is trying so hard to go into telecom.

Since you are the tech expert, I would like to ask you a tech question about this MOT news. It appears that so far only LU and QCOM got their CDMA products down. Is it possible that CDMA is so difficult that MOT is having problems with both handsets and infra stuff? If true, what type of problems may ERICY be facing with vaporware W-CDMA?
(qdog, do I hear you snickering in the background, watching how the surfer is going to handle this one?)

I could have sworn that Greenspan just repeated irrational exuberance again. Wall Street may be busy looking up the translation in Fed-speak dictionary.

Mike,

In this SuperBowl (of global standards), the CDG Executive board press release makes the score:

CDMA camp: 14
GSM camp: 7

Can't wait for the second half. Mexico is just around the corner!
