If I understand you correctly, what you're saying is that when a High Tech/Silicon Valley company comes out with a press release announcing a new product/feature such as Arbitrated Loop with the phrase "available immediately", it really means 3-6 months before production is available and when there is no specific date in the press release, then it really means 6-12 months from availability.

I hope all the OEM's factor this into their own vaporware timetables. Sounds like a cat and mouse game of stalling the OEM's by making promises you know you can't keep just to stay in the game. Sounds like Larry Ellison's "Network Appliance" and Mr. Ed's "Windows "99" to me...
