Also I was thinking some more on the antenna. There is a law of reciprocity for antennas that basically states that they preform the same whether transmitting or receiving. My concern is primarily for the antenna's efficiency during transmission, as noise will ultimately mask the signal at some distance, where the range might be greatly extended for a high efficiency antenna. One can always add a low noise amplifier during reception to compensate for antenna inefficiency provided it has a low noise floor. Do you know whether anyone has published any technical results in a peer reviewed
scientific journal?
