Rarebird,
Israel has no intention in remaining in Iran once the monarchy is reestablished.
That's another interesting complication that you (perhaps unintentionally) brought up.

I took a little time reminding myself of Iranian history, especially revolving around the Shah and the circumstances that led to both his rise and his fall.

His rise is almost indisputably the result of the CIA and MI6 engineering a coup because Iran at the time wanted to nationalize the oil industry. The U.S. and the U.K. at the time didn't like that for various reasons (corporate, geopolitical, whatever), so they successfully meddled in Iranian politics.

Of course, the Shah turned out to be a corrupt asshole (surprise surprise) and enriched himself at the expense of the people (surprise surprise), which then led to the Iranian revolution of 1979.

The current regime is arguably worse than the Shah, but it's hard to gauge how long the memories of the Iranians last. I'm going to assume that the Iranians, having a very rich culture, possess long memories, which is why I'm not so sure Shah Jr. is going to regain power. The fact that the CIA meddled in Iranian politics probably won't vanish from their minds, either.

Of course, Israel doesn't give a shit about who takes over as long as the current regime is destabilized to the point where a revolution could take place. I doubt you do, either.

But I will say one thing. I don't trust Shah Jr. at all. Whatever he says, whatever he posts on social media, should be taken with a large grain of salt. He's about as trustworthy as King Orange, and maybe just as mentally unstable for all I know.
