I think a large part of the increased demand for bandwidth comes from increased use of multimedia apps over the net. This plays into all of the current ATM wins that BAY has been releasing. (Emory - video conferencing, Ford - huge CAD and collaboration apps) The only hole BAY had here was a telco/ISP ATM product which they've filled with NEC.

I think the omission of BAY is not significant. BAY has been ignored a lot over the last couple of years - people had almost written it off. Only recently has it started to get good press coverage. I don't mind the lack of coverage, its helped BAY sneak back up to the #2 player before the competition new what hit them.

Just an opinion.
