It is pretty much a cancer...
What's so special about them?

I did a calculation awhile back of what percentage of California workers are employed by any form of government... The total blew my mind and it explains why salaries and benefits are out of control and out of proportion compared to the private industry where you can easily get fired for poor performance. A friend who had his own small manufacturing and sales company for many years until environmental laws and low-cost imports forced him out of business, went to work as an engineer for the government. He said it is very inefficient and if anyone makes a suggestion on how to improve things, you get the equivalent of fired.... moved to a crappy job, because it makes your superior look bad for not being perfect!

My guess is most of the "protesters" wearing black and face masks on the corner by the Tesla dealership slowing traffic and making a racket with horns honking in support and "get out of the way" noise work for the government and don't like what DOGE was doing...
