BGM: You are right, the company should release the news regarding an extension of the option, as it is material information. As a matter of fact, the first extension was announced, which would tend to indicate that the company knows that it is material. The second (and now the third) extension was not announced, and there was no explanation. You said that the shareholders are valuable "resources." In fact, we are far more than that....we are the OWNERS OF THE COMPANY (albeit small owners compared to those who control the flow of news). Rarely is there unanimity on this thread, but I have not read anyone say that they feel the company should not release news concerning an extension of the option. Surely management agrees. I will assume, therefore, that a major announcement of results is imminent, and management has decided to dedicate a small portion of the release to the status of the option.
