Hi Nicewatch. My considerations:
The US is testing how far it can go. Prodding here and there, the end goal is not to leave money on the table.
It is not plain trade. It is trade with some add-ons on geopolitics.

It can discuss trade policies with India, but India will not sell its soul to the devil -no country will- to export to the US. The US is trying to know how it -and other trading partners- react react.

|Trump when announcing executive orders 50% is playing to the local crowds. Americans who approves his government.

The hard data on the consequences of the administration's policies will only appear in the Winter 2025/26.

The Winter coming will be fine tuning time.

If Russia would be in dire straits, as a result of the war, it would have accepted Trump's plan to negotiate. Sing its determination to prod on with the conflict is a signal Russia can afford to keep it on. Like we have discussed before: Time is on Russia's side.

Trump does not want to destroy economies. Trump wants to improve the US trade deficit and pay the federal debt. Like any country it was elected to defend the interests of the United States and the Americans. Not different than any other country.
