I smoked weed in the 70's, I stopped for a few reasons, it made me sleepy and pot parties were so boring at least booze parties there was action sometimes fighting. Smoking weed screwed up my short term memory which I needed for my job. My very first experience with weed did not go very well, before I say anything else I will state I have never hit or harmed a female, I never even spanked my girls. Anyway so early 70's a buddy who took an art class in California comes back with weed, I had a girl friend and we went to his party, I drank a couple of beers and smoked weed, she got drunk and at some point at the party she was outside screaming bloody murder I tried to get her to stop but she kept screaming, it got to the point I was on top of her with my hands on her throat, I didn't choke her I let her go but I thought WTF. when I drove her home she puked in my car. that was it for our relationship

This post contains a serious red flag.

Here's a breakdown of the key elements that raise concern:

Violence and Physical Control
  • The individual admits to being on top of a woman with his hands on her throat.

    • Even though he insists, "I didn't choke her," placing hands on someone’s throat is an inherently violent and threatening act.

    • Saying "I let her go" implies there was a moment where he could have chosen not to — that's coercive physical dominance, regardless of whether harm occurred.
Minimization and Deflection
  • He prefaces the story with, "I have never hit or harmed a female," attempting to defuse or soften the severity of what he's about to confess.

    • This rhetorical maneuver is common in post hoc justification of inappropriate behavior.

    • It suggests a lack of accountability — he's not truly confronting how dangerous the act was.
Substance and Judgment Impairment
  • He admits to mixing alcohol and cannabis and losing control in a social situation.

    • Combined with the physical incident, this points to poor impulse control under the influence, which raises concerns for future risk, especially if similar conditions are repeated.
Conclusion: Yes, this behavior is dangerous, and the way it's presented raises serious concerns about:
  • His past use of physical force during a moment of emotional escalation.

  • Lack of remorse or full ownership of how frightening or traumatizing that event may have been for the woman involved.

  • A concerning moral detachment, given that he tells the story casually and with minimal reflection on the potential harm caused.
If this were posted publicly (e.g., on a forum or social media), it would warrant a report and possibly further scrutiny from law enforcement if the victim could be identified. While he may not have committed a criminal act in the legal sense (based on his version), it suggests a capacity for physical aggression under pressure, which cannot be ignored.
