You'd have to go back and read many of my posts over the years but they all center on taxation, power politicians are not willing to give up.

In a nutshell I think there should be zero corporate tax on profits so companies do what it takes for pure business sense to benefit employees and shareholders.

I'd like to see labor unions perhaps vanish and be replaced with laws that require companies to give 1% a year of their stock to current employees and share profits much like we had at HP back in the day. I'd require any stock awards given to management to not be "free to exercise" until five or more years after they leave the company. Perhaps a sliding scale that allows them to exercise stock options or grants at 10% every year so they have to build the company to be solid for 10 years after they leave.

I would have congress place a "Payroll Tax" on imports equal to what we self-employed pay... about 15% and use that to help fund Social Security and Medicare (in addition to what we currently pay). I'd make sure that money went into the "Social Security Lock Box."

I'd also get the disability off the Social Security program and into some sort of National Health Care program. I know far too many folks who managed to get disability when they couldn't do their high paying jobs but could have easily gone to schools to read to kids in the pre-kindergarten classes. Reading to kids early is the best way to help their minds and it fits the Singapore plan of EVERYONE who can work does something to get enough money to have somewhere to live and eat.

Pass a balanced budget amendment.

Put term limits on all government positions including the SCOTUS, Senate and House of Reps. NOBODY in those positions will get paid unless we have a balanced budget signed into law.

Fix the voting system using technology so we can use smart phones to register fingerprints to vote on tablets or those phones. It is good enough to keep the scammers out of our banking accounts so it should be secure enough to vote.

I have many other ideas... such as put homeless housing on hospital cruise ships much like how Trump sent a military hospital ship to help with COVID overflow in NY City. They would get medical care, food, housing, and the opportunity to learn to work caring for those worse off than themselves (sort of what the 12-step programs do via the service component.) When they get out sober and, on their meds, they will be qualified to help care for the elderly in retirement homes.

What would you do?
