Has anyone read the book "The Electronic Day Trader"? Is this useful in interpreting Level II screens and understanding some of how the market maker conducts business?

Also what are your thoughts on utilizing the bid and ask instead of the price action on the stock to interpret and predict future price action like an intraday turnaround in the price of the stock? Many seem to be using this method. I find the price and volume action of the stock more indicative of future price action, and it is much less likely to be faked out this way.
