“This is revealing, the fact that he won't simply release these files, bring transparency [and] honor these survivors,” Giridharadas said, speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “It reveals his entire project to be a con to his base!”

Brumar, I've long advocated for the U.S. to dump Pakistan and develop closer relations with India. The reasons should be obvious.

But Trump in his infinite wisdom is doing the exact opposite, and no MAGA cultist is able to defend his foreign policy.

Just more "5-D Chess" ...

‘Haven’t done Phase 2 or 3 yet’: Trump hits back at reporter for questioning lack of action against Russia (India Express)

During his bilateral meeting with Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki, a Polish reporter questioned Trump’s approach, asking that despite his expressing frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he did not take action against Moscow.

The US president, visibly irritated, pointed to the secondary sanctions that he put on India for buying Russian oil as a key example of his administration’s decisive action.

“How do you know there’s no action? Would you say that putting secondary sanctions on India, the largest purchaser outside of China, they’re almost equal, would you say there was no action? That cost hundreds of billions of dollars to Russia. You call that no action? And I haven’t done phase two yet or phase three. But when you say there’s no action, I think you ought to get yourself a new job,” Trump said, hitting back at the reporter.

*******

First of all, India hasn't cut back on their purchases of RuZZian oil just yet. There may have been some delays when Trump slapped those "secondary sanctions," but Modi made it clear that India will not change course.

So the tariffs aren't costing RuZZia anything. Instead, they're costing India and the U.S.

Second, India isn't purchasing "hundreds of billions of dollars" worth of oil from RuZZia. Trump doesn't even have a sense of scale, much less a finger on reality. India purchases approx. 750 million barrels of oil from RuZZia per year. That amounts to $47B/year, and that's only IF India is paying market price for RuZZian oil. It's safe to assume that India gets about a 15-25% discount, so that means the actual amount is around $40B/year. That's a far cry from "hundreds of billions of dollars."

(Oh and by the way, if India won't buy RuZZian oil, RuZZia can find other buyers for it, albeit at even cheaper prices. So all-in-all, it's NOT going to cost RuZZia "hundreds of billions of dollars." Maybe tens of billions at most.)

And third, what exactly is Trump planning for "phase two" or "phase three"? TACO Supreme Commander has no idea. Again, he has no strategy for getting India to cease purchases of RuZZian oil, he has no strategy for Modi having to deal with an Indian population who, quite frankly, hates Trump's guts, and he has no strategy for what happens when Modi holds fast and forces the rest of India to deal with Trump's dumbass tariffs.

The analysts are right. Trump's foreign policy with regard to India couldn't be any dumber. Not even the dumbest MAGA cultist could achieve something worse.
