It is clear that Putin intends to take as much land as he can, it is not our job to prevent it when the victim in this case is as intransigent as the aggressor. At some during a beating, or rape, is the victim obliged to give in or risk being intransigent?

It is clear that Putin intends to take as much land I would rephrase this to make it clearer to you: "If Putin expects to win the war he started, he needs to take as much land as possible. Clearly, he is not going to give that up peaceably, when he lost many fighters to take it in the first place."
