Have you picked up on the huge AI farm being built in Alberta? It will run on NG. Ephing insane. That one site could use 2% of Canada's electricity consumption- big oil loves AI and is promoting it.
As the public switches to electric vehicles AI makes up for the drop in use by consuming more oil .

Bonkers

The nice thing I see is the huge AI sites will become redundant as technology will increase computing power to smaller and smaller units.

Don't forget that the current US government is doing everything it can to discourage development of wind and solar, because they want us to burn coal and oil for our energy. Would they go so far as to ban new installations of solar and wind? I don't know US governance well enough to know if it is possible, but they sure would like to.

The Alberta government has also been doing everything it can to discourage solar and wind power development, for the same reason.
