Sam: Thanks a million for posting this hilarious article from The Post, much obliged. Man, I love it. (I am still laughing as I probably
do the same thing as the US diplomat if found in such a predicament.)

Last year while at the Bahrain international airport my wife and I witnessed somewhat of a funny incident not dissimilar to the one in The Post, just because it has to do with the 'ladies' room but the 'victims' were ladies and on public display. The entrances to the toilets have no 'push/pull' sign and they are of full length with no 'handles'. The guys somehow figured out how to get in but not many of the ladies as the door requires some strength to push it open. The unsuspecting ladies at least the ones we saw tried to push it with their hands then with their hips but the door wouldn't budge, then they desperately tried to pull it but without the 'handle' it was almost impossible to do this. Then we saw some of them sitting down on the floor trying to pry it open with their fingers through the small space at the bottom of the door, some even lied down and tried many other tricks. Funny/sad nobody came forward to offer any help as passengers waiting for their flights could see what was going on. we thought it might be a cultural thing or something to show indifference in such a situation, but finally I helped couple of them to get in but then we decided to move from the proximity of this 'entrance' as I knew I didn't want to be the 'official toilet door attendant'. It was funny believe me but you had to be there.<gg>
