It did, but on the last day of the Mar 2020 contract. Usually the contract switches a week before expiry, so if my not sure up in the data.

I think JOAT is right - this is a very long term chart, using monthly data - meaning, the monthly closing price.

Back then, getting paid for taking Oil off someone’s hands sounded nice - but what if one had to take delivery?

No wonder people were willing to give away the contracts for free - and even to pay extra :)

But, someone did get that oil - must have been people who had available storage capacity.
