1. you agree with me and disagree with craig, the home user and or small business will not be purchasing this equipment for their site. but these same customers will help to generate enough traffic to force carriers to use wdm equipment to maximize current fiber so to avoid installing more fiber lines.

2. WDM is the Transport Layer - tom aellis

now i need an education (actually i needed one prior to this point). i am assuming you mean wdm fits into the OSI model in the transport layer (transparent data transfer between points)?

We are obviously on different wavelengths (pun intended). I am saying that small businesses and consumers WILL see WDM, probably in their computer on a sliver of silicon. (WDM on a chip).

Obviously I was referring to the distant future and you are talking about the present.
