My remarks are not about Clinton, or defending Clinton. They are directed squarely at the process that is being employed to prosecute him. Whatever Clinton and his people may have done has no relevance to the tactics being employed to get him. To get him by any means makes them no better than him. The ends do not justify the means. I offer Clinton no absolution for what he has done, whatever that may turn out to be. Nor do I write a blank check to his prosecutors to get him however they can.
