Michael,

Perceptions can be more important than reality. I don't think that there will be an actively competitive chip from ATML inside of two years. However the prospect of such a chip can change opinions as to future growth projections which is what the current VTSS valuation is based on. It's hard to ignore Nortel actively working on SONET chips in SiGe.

I got into VTSS and GaAs early, now I'm looking for ways to get into SiGe early.

Michael... excellent point..and well put.. I'll take my "chances" on VTSS ( I already have...MUCH to my benefit)... I've read enough by folks much smarter than me to understand that SiGe is targeted at minor miche markets right now...and prospects for signficant applications are distant (to put it nicely).. VTSS has no fear. ATML may have a future market...but not likely at VTSS's expense...unless there is something a lot of smart people are missing badly..IMHO. Duane
