Obviously, there’s a cost to having a professional trustee.
True. The local financial services firm charges 1% fee plus $20k/year to manage the funds and administer the trust.


Last year I established a Supplemental Needs Trust for my sister. Her adult daughter is the trustee. Thus far, it’s working out well.
It's good that it's working out for you. Hopefully, it won't become too much of a burden for the daughter. After a while, it gets pretty old.
