Handsets are 70% of Qualcomm's chipset business. They are always going to be a significant contributor.

Message 35321310

ps and traders are always going to be taking advantage of all that can be mustered within that realm. It's simply the nature of that business and too boot it includes a significant Chinese component which is also heavily worked by traders and governmental regulatory entities. C'est la vie.

Real change for Qualcomm comes from getting away from empowering all comers with std essential intellectual property and focusing more upon producing the best products which can be sold to the highest bidder.

Products empowering all are not going disappear. However, this area becomes more of the place where Qualcomm can drift their innovations into maintaining it as a cash cow component of their business. I suspect the dominance of this sector is your point.

HF, re- AAPL Modem – conditions for QCOM to continue to supply or not

any ongoing relationship with Apple will not change this situation. It's time to move on and I applaud Q for doing so. Q cannot continue to allow Apple to have leverage over its stock.

>>>>>>>>

I hear you loud and clear and despise the company, its leaders, and its promoter’s.

However, as a reward for all the suffering ( SP depression, etc) / hostility over years I wouldn’t mind (as previously stated)- a large monetary reward in terms of a large up front payment , a large modem ASP increase , other large / significant guarantees.

Make Tim pay thru the nose- for his abusive QCOM (and other AAPL suppliers) treatment over the decades.

Perhaps then others would take notice of the large payout needed to secure QCOMs state of the art modem that many others over the decades have attempted and failed to produce.

And, recognize the importance of the modem – which is essential to make a smartphone smart. Something more critical than- a costly apps store / ultra thin designs / colorful face plate / Apple “intelligence” promises.
