I don't think any leading commercial vendor, least of all OpenAI, will ever give you the chain of thought as you brought it up. If they do, their competitors will quickly catch up to them. But you ChatGPT does show what it thinks it needs to do, "The user is asking for...I need to figure out... Searching Wikipedia for... Springer says... I need to validate... Tell user correlation is not causality..." Also, research from Anthropic says chain of thought is not what we originally thought it is. AI models seem to first formulate the answer and then generate a chain of thought for it.
