Can e-wave really be applied to an issue like the VIX that is permanently range-bound?

ChatGPT says according to e-wave theory, it can be, as all the VIX action since just after the VIX began decades ago can be seen as corrective.

Does e-wave theory really support a potentially infinite corrective move?

I would argue, similar to ajtj99, that the most we should expect is a "c" up to finish the "a - b" from mid Oct. My thinking is that range-bound securities only work as corrective waves in either direction. Who knows though.
