Well, I've never been to Hawaii, never been in a Trader Joe's store, don't eat seafood, but I loved Chinatown in Boston. I used to take the Missus there (girlfriend at the time) when dating her. She was impressed. My other buddies didn't work while in school while I held a full time job in a meat packing plant after school. I was a hot dog! No more subway for my girl, I paid for her to travel in taxi cabs. .. Ha!

PS - She wants the old me back!

Re. Are you sure there is no state tax?

Oh man, Hawaii does have a state tax. There goes my dream of living in a state without income tax. Maybe we can just live there part-time with residency in Washington State. WIll have to think about it.

Google search: "Hawaii has a progressive individual income tax system, meaning the tax rate increases with income. It has 12 income brackets, one of the highest numbers of brackets in the nation."
