The bubble will really go bang when it becomes clear that many of these guys (OpenAI?) don't have much value because their IP is replicated by a dozen other labs and made open source.

Imagine if new CPUs and GPUs came out every 6 months and immediately made the prior ones obsolete. That is what is happening with AI models. They have no shelf-life, and none of them stand out in a dominate fashion from their competitors. Where is the value?
