John re:<Alpha PC chips>, here's a link announcing 14 vendors of Alpha 21264PC machines as of Nov 17. You're absolutely right about the lack of publicity, DEC always had great stuff but was from the old school that "word of mouth" was the best marketing. I've been a DEC investor the past couple years and have had reason to pull my hair out weekly over DEC's unaggressive, even non-defensive marketing. www3.techstocks.com There's lots of good posts on the DEC thread linking to info on DEC's alpha plans. I was a DEC stockholder because of their plans to have 64 bit NT on 64 bit Alpha boxes at PC prices, at least 1 1/2 years before Merced! Now I've been a CPQ shareholder for the exact same reasons ;-) I can't wait to hear what they have to say after the quiet period. There will be some good short targets then, IMO. regards, Tom
