FAQ type question:

I have been trying to persuade the doctor in charge of purchasing decisions for a department in a local hospital that he should go with JAZ drives and cartridges for (1) digital imaging, (2) powerpoint type presentations, and 3) backup. He wants to know why he shouldn't go with CD-R, because, as he says, they are rewriteable and the media is cheap.

I know this has been discussed here in the past but to date, my non-techie head has not absorbed the reasoning. Can anyone tell me (so I can tell him) why CD-R is not the way to go? Right now, I feel so defenseless....

Thanks,

d-fndr

>>how do you tranfer from digital media back to tape? can buz do this? is it just rca jacks?<<

The Buz does only have RCA jacks in and out. It might even have an S-VHS jack. Anyone with a Buz confirm?

This is purely a consumer device, as these jacks are hardly professional. But for editing home movies or Quicktime movies this Buz device (and many other competing capture board/software bundles) should be enough
