SI died before I could update my message with details.

On 11/12/24, my Dell laptop was about $1,330.85 after CA taxes and discounts.

Today Costco wants $1,399.99 before taxes and fees.
That probably comes out the same given I got a $200 discount and I think they had it $300 off once before last April's "Liberation Day" when China got blasted with tariffs.

They offer a similar version for $100 cheaper with a 1TB vs my 2TB SSD. Some other minor feature differences including fewer ports...

So it looks like consumers are not seeing falling prices for laptops and to maintain the price, they cut memory in half for the SS HD... because if you click my PC to order it, it comes up "out of stock".
