You're welcome

I am currently using this HP doc plus I supply power to the laptop through its power plug so there is plenty of power for the monitors. amzn.to

I plug on monitor into the laptop and one into the HP dock with HDMI cables.

Before I was using the higher power dock from Dell amzn.to

I thought the Dell dock was having issues so I got the HP one and they went away for awhile. It turns out that fast charging the battery in the laptop caused the battery over time to swell and that makes contact in the laptop intermittent. I thought it was a driver problem until it got so bad you could see the laptop swell and the laptop would not start up.

I worry about trying anything without a Dell or HP label since it is plugged in all the time and I worry about fires charging the lithium battery in laptops. The new laptop has a "smart charge" feature which is supposed to address the issue. I power down the laptop when I leave the house or go to bed so the battery should not be drawing power.

I use the two big monitors for "work" such as typing this reply on the one in front of me while I have charts up on the monitor on my right then the laptop has Futures, current Finviz market graphs up during the business day and nice views up otherwise
