Starting here are a series of posts that back test your system using various trigger levels for the $BPSOX: 15/85, 20/80, 30/70. In general the system has a high success rate. Depending on the trigger levels it is less accurate at calling the exit at the top of the market (only calls it 75 percent of the time). It looked at 25 years of data.

Grok did suggest a re-entry strategy where after you exit at the top you get back in when the $BPSOX is in the 40% range on a pullback .

It depend how many signals you want. 15/85 is a once in a generation sell off and exit. 20/80 generates a signal every 18 months. 30/70 generates a few signal a year.

If I have more time later this year I might try to code a webpage the automates the systems using end of day data, if I can get access to the data. I am not sure $BPSOX data is freely available.

Getting ready for retirement is turning into a lot of work, so my time is pretty tight these days. Some many details to go over even though I am still about 18 months out.
