Joey,
Re -- Jerry had to start these "talks" with IBM or else they would have booted him out after next month's shareholder meeting.

I dont think so. I suspect these rumors were originated on the floor, and as such its validity is very questionable.

I agree with you, makes for a good trading opportunity.

> I'll be out at the next train stop...

Would you please let us (or at least "me") know when will be the next train stop? and what crystal ball you use to see the next stop!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been an AMD investor for not more than a couple of weeks but from the sound of it and (especially the childish bickering that is going on this thread), there seems to be a lot of not so happy campers with this stock.

The reason I invested in the stock was mainly its low valuations (from the price to sale ration stand point), and knowing that Intel's current fear as far as competittion is concerned is AMD. I am hearing from people I know working at Intel, that they have been doing a bunch of internal compettitive analisys of their competittors and basically their number 1 fear right now is AMD's success to move to 0.25. And yes also the possible deal with IBM. Intel has basically written off Cyrix, and IDTI and considers them as small items to be mentioned only in history books. However they continue to think of AMD as their #1 enemy. Now how successful Intel is going to be in eliminating this enemy, from what I hear they can not say for sure till at least end of this year when AMD's situation becomes a bit more clear.

Right now every one seems to be very upset with AMD (mostly because they became irrationally exuberant when the stock hit $40+ earlier last year) and kept buying and listening to all those so called analysts (i.e. con artists), rather than selling. As idiotic as that irrational exuberant was back then, it is even more idiotic to have an irrational pessimism toward the company! AMD is a solid company with perhaps the best engineering minds in the world the money can buy!
