Yes, Bobster, I second your appreciative comment to Jan regarding RS. Thanks, again, Jan.

bobster, *** oil service ***
IBD has oil service as group 197 out of 197.
Air lines are number 1. IBD bases its ranking on the group's
stock performance over the last 6 months. Doug on the ESV
thread tells how an oil company could not find a rig for SEA...

The bullish % approach makes sense to me. I bought more
ESV last week and will ignore the wiggles.

Bobster, IMO the Value Line individual stock Timeliness ratings are very valuable and their sector rankings are worthless. They had Semiconductors rated #1 for three months after the sector got pounded in September 1995. PNF sector analysis is much more accurate.
The Oil Services broad group was recently Bull Confirmed, but some of subgroups were in trouble: Canadian Exploration, Production/Pipeline, & Refining Mktg were all still Bear Confirmed. The one Bull Confirmed subsector, Field Services, had slim pickings. HAL, MDR, SLB, & WAI all had their RS's in a column of O's and only MDR was trading above its bullish support line.
Lets be ready when the Oils come back. The longer they are down, the more rewarding it will be when they do.

Best Regards,

Duke

Have a good day,
