rrrman, you've put your finger right on it, which is the thing that most disturbs me about Clinton: The man appears to be a pathological liar, lying even when truth would serve his interests better.

In the Lewinsky matter I'm not sure what the courts would have done, but suffice to say that NOBODY really cares beyond the first few titillating giggles about who he's had an affair with.

But the specter of Clinton and his advisors getting together with Monica (and Monica getting together with Tripp via the talking points), all in a low-brow conspiracy to cover up all traces of his affair, is really really flat-out juvenile. It's not like Clinton had any upstanding reputation to preserve. It's this sneaking around and filing of false affidavits (if the 22 hours of tapes are to be believed), THEN the public denial of any and all charges....that just doesn't sit well with me.
