I believe the shorts have been posted in IBD and I missed. Did anyone catch the Feb short number?

> You can weight the info or lack of info in a profile

What can I say? Some people believe everything that they read in the newspaper (do you?). Believe what you want, it has already been shown that 'profiles' can lie. (Also, how much weight can you give someone who posts that someones email address is invaild when he/she never even attempted to send an email to that address??)

> You actually make so many predictions that you stand a good chance
> of some of them coming true.

Not only is that statement false (why must you resort to misinformation?), there have been many more incorrect predictions by the in-house 'bulls' (I guess you have no problem with incorrect predictions, some going as far back as post #19)

> You like to dance around always avoiding questions.

Interesting allegation from someone who avoids questions themselves! BTW, you never responded to my question when I asked if you checked out DELL on the 19th (another 'prediction', I guess). Since that post DELL is up 14 5/8's -- thats over 11% in 6 days -- I hope you checked it out. exchange2000.com

> If he says up, you say down

Well, you may not find it misleading to only post the 'good' news, but I find it very misleading to say that "LGND is not trading in the 14's", but then remain silent when it pulls back 10 minutes later

> also leads me to believe that you are of a young age.

But who would have guessed by his posts that bernie is 66! (Hmmmm... his profile is also mighty thin, I guess you 'suspect' him also)

I also find this to be an excellent post. If an investor follows stocks on message boards, he must wonder about the motivation of the many posters who sit on a board, but appear to dislike the company and constantly harass it's investors. In the case of shorts, they may believe they can contribute to driving down the price (a doubtful premise). For others the incentive is not apparent. Maybe just the power of anonymity??

While my main interest is the stock being discussed, I think the psychology of "thread villians" and negative posters is a area worth further exploration.

Incidently, tonyt is a relatively mild pest. Aside from an obvious personal enmity for Henry, he mostly just sits on the board and revels in any fall in the price. How or whether he actually invests in Ligand is unknown.
