OT:

For economic forces to work, the copayment would have to be hefty, like at least 50%. Such a scheme, if ever adopted, would last one or two election cycles before some compassionate (i.,e., vote hungry) pols goes for reducing the copayment, effectively attenuating and then destroying the economic inducements.

Of course there should and will be (as there is) some gov medical care for the indigent and destitute. I just would like the gov to give the rest a choice with medical savings accounts.

Jack,

Off topic.

Just read your post on insurance and health care. For a couple of years I was with out health insurance and was in good condition. Now that I have good health insurance I'm chronically ill with every thing from diabetes to cat scratch fever and about to die if not treated regularly. Funny, I feel the same. Does having a good paying insurance plan cause chronic conditions that require frequent visits to the Doctor?
