Dear Jane: I would love to meet this Greg who apparently has given up his life for the lives of those young men. We have a ministry similar to that in our area . I will tell you about it . They take kids off of life sentences, 30 40 year terms, and put them on a farm; make them go to church 5 days a week, get up 5 am, school them, give then tailor made suits to wear out in public, clean and shave them: they look like pre med students walking down the street or a group of young lawyers. They minister to churches and young people by testimony and by choir. They have a 95 % success rate: over 1/3 become ministers. The man that started the program gave up a corporate career, and sold everything he owned: The program is voluntary and they have a waiting list to get in. No bars on the windows, you can leave anytime: and the kids go through an 18 month program and don't want to leave. All of them are saved within several months of arrival and most baptised with the holy spirit. I do want to address the topic of giving a little: Ecclesiastes 11:1-3 1 Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again. 2 Give portions to seven, yes to eight, for you do not know what disaster may come upon the land. 3 If clouds are full of water, they pour rain upon the earth. Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there will it lie. The verse is fairly self explanatory with the exception of the tree falling to the north or south: Certain situations in life just happen. God controls them. Sometimes we need help , sometimes we need to help. But don't let an uncertain future dictate your sowing seeds today. Would a farmer say, this year is a year of drought I will not sow this year. Surely his year would have no harvest. For that reason we also have been discussing of God being at His best when He provides us a pathway for escape, or a means of deliverance. We should all pray that an army persue us to the Red Sea..praise God. or that we have no food....so God would send down manna from heaven.. or that we have to get to the other side of the Jordan river.. so God would dry up the river bottom for us. God is at His best when we need Him the most..and thank you Lord Jesus for being that way.. we wouldn't have it any other way.and God bless Jane, my dear dear sister in the Lord....Amen
