Satyr....I don't believe you can easily manipulate this stock either but a little nudge 5% one way or another is possible, especially right now with the market already edgey with the merger deal and its unknowns.

Analysts / Manipulation of Stock Etc.

Since I do not have the proper information it precludes me from passing judgment on this issue. However, I am very interested to
know if someone on the thread can answer the following:

Does Morningstar, Bloomberg, etc. have a rating system or track record/trend of analysts'(companies)recommendations(upgrade/downgrades)?

This could give "the market" an idea as to the credibility of such individuals and companies.

Are there records available of purchases/sell offs of stocks that have been recommended by these companies? Following recommendations?

Is it true that Gardner downgraded Dell in January?

This might be an interesting business to start if doesn't exist.
Give an "Oscar" (or "Wally" for Wall Street) for the best analyst, fund manager, etc.

IMO CPQ has other obstacles besides analysts.
The stock might possibly be at a lower level if it CPQ were not as solid a company coming into the acquisition.

Satyr,

Peace brother. I hear you, but I hope you do not believe that SB bozo's statement. That, IHMO, is manipulation in light of the recent article posted on this thread. Lucky for you. He helped you get it even cheaper than I paid for it, 34 1/4. More power to you. There was no truth to his idiotic statement other than to sway the stock down which he succeeded in doing. Hence my point about manipulation of a stock regardless of whether a stock trades 20+ million or 2 grand a day. Any way I am cool and so are you and we will both make money in CPQ in time and soon I hope. The bozo just took advantage of the quiet period to stab at CPQ, IMO. I just couldn't resist one last stab at the SB bozo.
