PC Power and Cooling Power Supplies...ATX form factor

>>They offer the Turbo-Cool 300 ATX for $129. How does this differ from their Turbo Cool 300 3.3 volts?<<

This is a form factor thing. If you are going to use an ATX motherboard, you must use an ATX case and an ATX power supply.

>>Also, is the extra $50 for Turbo Cool vs Silencer worth the difference?<<

The difference is because you are comparing an ATX form factor power supply to a different form factor.

If you are going the PII route with an ATX motherboard:

Your choice is between the Silencer 275 ATX and the Turbo Cool 300 ATX. There is no price difference between these two units ($129). I would choose the Turbo Cool 300 because of the higher power rating for the same price. 275 watts is adequate for most applications but my preference would be to err on the high side. The Turbo Cool 300 ATX has the 3yr warranty vs the two year for the Silencer 275. This is most likely do to the Turbo Cool 300 operating at a lower temperature.

The only advantage to the Silencer that I can see is noise. The silencer is a little quieter than the Turbo Cool 300 ATX.

>>Our Standard and Silencer line of power supplies have a 2-year warranty. Our Turbo-Cool line has a 3-year warranty except for the Turbo-Cool 450 & 600 which have a 5-year warranty. The Silencer line
provides the quietest operation and the Turbo-Cool line the most cooling. MTBF on the Standard and Silencer line is 50,000 hours and the Turbo-Cool line is 70,000 to 100,000 hours.<<
