Hey, TSO: We are hitting little white balls alright. Snowballs. My God I haven't seen anything like this in YEARS. This thing started last Wednesday and the damn thing is still snowing and blowing. I have five foot drifts in my back yard, the town is shut down, haven't been to work for two days, wore out my snowblower and my wife plowing the driveway, roads are closed and we can't find the airport. The only positive is the golf course is getting the good moisture it needs for a fast start.

Enough of that. Really have been trying to get a grasp of this technology and must admit I am lost. The technology seems to change daily and new players all the time. Guess for the time being I am going to stick with APAT. I have met some of the management and have visited the Aberdeen facility. Will be interesting to see what happens with sales from the new UV Detectors and how fast Aberdeen gets ramped up. Management is responsible and dollar conscious.

Hopefully the San Jose get together last week will prove fruitful. Time will tell.

Hope all is well with you folks. When you get to the course, hit the first one for me and Hit It Straight.

Jim

Duane: Internet Telephony, another emerging technology with many players. Thought I would post this URL. This should be a news announcement come Monday. This came from the Franklin Telecommunications Stockholder Meeting last Friday, 2-27-98.

Duane, okay, now that I know you belong to the True Religion of Fairways and Greens, the hard questions start:
Quality of management is a higher priority for me than any black box, no matter how exciting. Th UT/DPMI/LU/CYMI .08 micron news would appear to be a legitimate blockbuster for example, but I know nothing about DPMI management (simply because I just started following the company).
Would be most appreciative if you or the other folks on the APAT thread might share your thoughts about this company's leadership. Didn't they attract some talent from CIEN? I lost track of CIEN when the price got to AOL levels and when it seemed to me they were losing their top science boys--something rotten in Denmark gut check. In any event, the notion that the much smaller APAT could snag the heavy duty deserters from the CIEN ship (options notwithstanding) tells a very good story about APAT unless my memory has gotten this thing mixed up.
I finally pulled the trigger on TLAB when they bagged the whole AON team from IBM, now convinced that their Martis digital cross connect box won't be a one trick pony which is always what scares the hell out of me when surveying the 'small company, amazing mouse trap' landscape'.
And I have no sympathy for Jim Nelson and a few snowflakes. You can't partake of the Noble Game in the San Francisco area without an aqua lung, or at least snorkle! Mike Doyle
