Tripp's motivations? No, unlike you, I'd not have done the same thing in her place; I'd have just told Monica I didn't want to talk to her about it.

I'm happy to know that you are a morally upright person. My point was not that it was okay for Tripp, just to acknowledge that revenge for perceived mistreatment is not an unusual feature of people's motivations. But let me ask you: If you were in Tripp's place, and were a Democrat working in a Republican White House, are you quite sure you would have simply accepted your firing with good grace, and not been tempted to smear the Republican President?

Again, I'm happy if you would be able to resist, but I thought you were the one who has been preaching against moralists and other "self-rightous" people. Geeeeezzz.
