It's just that I do not personally know of any ultra-liberal newspapers, although I'm sure such do exist. You could try Il Manifesto. Though at bottom it's basically a communist organ, and so not liberal in any real sense of the word.

Holly, Re: ultra-liberal vs ultra-conservative newspapers. Anyone wanting to read an ultra-libertarian newspaper should check out The Orange County Register. When I lived in SoCal, I found it a welcome counterpoint to the LA Times. ocregister.com Regards, JB
